My wife and I really enjoyed our stay last June 2009. The room was super nice (train room) and the breakfast was even better. We rode the trail ( paved section right across street was beauyiful ) to work off Bills egg bake and fresh berry muffins. After ride we really enjoyed roman baths at Berkley Springs with massage only $40 for each for one half hour each bath and massage. It was hard to get back to the real world. We will visit again soon.
What a great place to stay! We were traveling with our granddaughter and had completed 60+ miles on the towpath that day. Darlene and Bill greeted us warmly, gave us time to cool off, wash up and return to being human. It was a super hot day and the Inn was a cool oasis. They were the most pleasant folks we met on our entire trip. The house is beautiful, we had it all to ourselves. We got dinner recommendations, walked to the restaurant and enjoyed a restful nights sleep. Bill’s breakfast the next morning was wonderful and my family just hung out at the house while I got spokes replaced on my bike at C&O cycle. You can’t do any better than 1828 on the towpath.
We loved our stay at the trail inn! The Hancock suite had a very comfortable bed which was just what we needed after a long bike ride. Darlene and Bill were very accommodating even as we pushed our arrival time later. The afternoon snacks (especially the cookies) were great, and the breakfast was superb! I recommend the muffins!
We are definitely going to stay here again!
This was my first experience staying at a Bed & Breakfast . I really didn’t know what to expect. The experience was great. Bill & Darlene made us feel like we were part of their family with their home made brownies, snacks, access to their washer and dryer, hose to hose down our bikes, and the breakfast prepared by Bill (yum yum). Their hospitality, the comfort and cleanliness of the suite was more than I expected. I would definitely recommend this B & B.
